About The Position

The Customer Order and Fulfillment Specialist drives execution across the order lifecycle, improves responsiveness, and supports strong safety, quality, delivery, and cost outcomes through disciplined daily management and customer-focused problem solving. The role is based at GE Aerospace’s Grand Rapids facility, which produces electronics and avionics parts and equipment, including Avionics Computing Systems, Mission Systems, Navigation and Guidance Systems, and Vehicle Health & Data Management products. The specialist enters complex customer orders into an ERP system, maintains sales orders to align with customer purchase orders and contract requirements, and retrieves purchase orders from customer portals. The role monitors orders, validates order data and documentation, coordinates with internal teams and finance, resolves execution issues, and supports improvements to order-management workflows. Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires the employee to establish qualifying U.S. Person status. Employment is limited to individuals legally authorized to work in the United States, and an offer is conditioned on successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable. Employees may also be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED plus at least 4 years of experience in Supply Chain, Operations, Customer Service, and/or Manufacturing.
Must be able to prove U.S. Person status as a U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. citizen, or person granted asylee or refugee status, because the role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable, is a condition of an employment offer; employees may also be subject to random and reasonable-suspicion drug and alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

Enter complex customer orders into the ERP system accurately and with attention to detail.
Review, maintain, and update sales orders to align with customer purchase orders and contract requirements.
Retrieve and verify customer purchase orders from customer portals to support timely, accurate order processing.
Monitor orders monthly and proactively address issues that could affect quality, delivery, or customer satisfaction.
Partner with order fulfillment, contracts, program managers, shipping, and other cross-functional teams to resolve order-related issues and remove execution roadblocks.
Coordinate with finance to support invoice release and accurate, timely billing.
Validate order data, pricing, terms, and required documentation for compliance with internal processes and customer requirements.
Communicate order status, changes, and issue resolution clearly to internal stakeholders.
Identify process gaps, improve order-management workflows, and support continuous improvement and stronger operational performance.
Maintain accurate records and documentation in ERP systems, customer portals, and other business tools.
