About The Position

The Customer Intake Associate is the first point of contact for dispensary patients and customers. The role provides a warm, positive welcome in person and over the phone, processes check-ins, supports front-desk operations, and helps keep the store clean, safe, and guest-ready. The associate also provides new patients and customers with a brief explanation of services, learns about the cannabis products offered, coordinates visitor access with store leadership, and serves as a liaison to departments on security needs.

Requirements

• Stay current with and adhere to policies and regulations of the state cannabis agency.
• Meet the age requirement set by the state cannabis agency.
• Pass background checks required by the state cannabis agency.
• Accommodate varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
• Communicate effectively with customers, caregivers, and team members.
• Have prior customer service experience in hospitality, pharmacy, customer service, or retail.
• Work in a timely manner and strive to increase productivity.
• Demonstrate oral and written communication skills.
• Have a high school diploma or GED.
• Have 1–3 years of experience working in a retail or inventory setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide welcoming, high-quality customer service to patients and customers on-site and over the phone.
• Validate identification and enter patient and customer information into the POS system.
• Answer phones and emails, check in patients, and update patient files.
• Briefly explain services to new patients and customers.
• Learn about the cannabis products offered and maintain product knowledge.
• Manage access for visitors, vendors, and contractors in coordination with the Store Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Act as a liaison to departments regarding security needs.
• Learn and perform new tasks during downtime.
• Keep the front desk, lobby, restrooms, and other store areas clean, safe, and ready for guests.
