About The Position

The Customer Ambassador drives a hospitable environment at Florida International University by greeting guests, offering samples, touching tables, and leading guest-facing marketing and wellness programs. The role is part-time, with a schedule that may vary based on operational needs. The fixed pay rate is $15.00 per hour. Work is at Florida International University, 11200 S.W. 8th St, Miami, FL 33199.

Because the position serves an educational facility, work may be reduced or paused during winter and summer breaks when food service needs decline or cease. Such periods may be unpaid and treated as temporary layoffs; depending on business needs, the associate may be required to work year-round, potentially at a different location during breaks.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of prior customer service experience.
• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform essential functions satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and interact with them to ensure a high level of hospitality.
• Greet team members and ensure they have what they need to be successful each day.
• Relay relevant customer concerns to supervisors.
• Ensure marketing, wellness, and culinary programs are current and in place.
• Lead weekly promotions and programs for guests.
• Share best practices and recognize co-workers.
• Understand daily menu items and explain them accurately to customers.
• Use selling techniques and good communication to assist customers with buying and decision-making.
• Merchandise display foods attractively and serve food neatly and attractively according to standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
