About The Position

As a Custom Circuits Design Verification Engineer, you will work with the digital custom circuits team to ensure that pre-silicon deliveries of custom IPs for Apple SoCs are bug-free. You will review design and architecture specifications, understand use cases and corner conditions, and translate specifications into test benches with stimulus, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage. You will collaborate with custom circuit designers and RTL designers to understand design functionality and performance goals. The role also includes running and triaging regressions, tracking bugs, and analyzing coverage to achieve high-quality results. You will collaborate across teams and contribute to delivering bug-free functional products to market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree and at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of random verification processes, functional coverage, code coverage, and assertion methodology and philosophy.
  • Knowledge of Verilog/SystemVerilog and digital simulation and debug tools.
  • Experience with at least one scripting language, such as Perl or Python.
  • Knowledge of behavioral and structural RTL coding, especially for SRAM, register files, and other custom circuit designs.
  • Knowledge of FPGA and emulation challenges related to RTL coding and verification.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard design tools such as ESPCV and/or LEC.
  • Knowledge of regression and revision control tools.
  • DFT (ATPG/MBIST) knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Review design and architecture specifications and understand use cases and corner conditions.
  • Translate specifications into test benches containing stimulus, checkers, assertions, trackers, and coverage.
  • Work closely with custom circuit designers and RTL designers to understand functionality and performance goals.
  • Run and triage regressions, track bugs, and analyze coverage.
