About The Position

The Custody Operations Analyst monitors custody accounts and statement activity to help ensure statements are accurate and released on time. The role researches and resolves statement exceptions and account discrepancies, completes statement releases and backdated transaction requests, and performs master trust evaluations by reviewing and categorizing account activity and posting it to the appropriate structure. The analyst manages BPM requests and other operational workflows, provides technical and troubleshooting support, and responds to internal partners’ questions about statement activity. The position requires managing multiple processes and service-level commitments, maintaining accurate daily processing, applying independent judgment to operational issues, supporting controls, identifying risks, and contributing to process improvements and department initiatives. The analyst provides professional service to internal partners and may support client-related discussions when needed.

Requirements

Two or more years of related operational or professional experience.
Basic-to-intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including working within existing spreadsheets, understanding spreadsheet structure, manipulating data, and creating formulas when needed.
Strong analytical, numerical, problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Ability to recognize trends and maintain accuracy when working with numerical information.
Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities, manage multiple processes, and meet established deadlines and service-level commitments.
Strong technical aptitude and ability to navigate multiple business applications, email systems, and request-management tools.
Professional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and internal customer-service skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, custody operational functions, systems, procedures, products, and services.
Experience researching discrepancies, resolving exceptions, or supporting transaction- and account-based operational processes.
Banking or financial-services experience is helpful but not required; candidates from other industries may be considered with relevant analytical, technical, numerical, and operational experience.

Responsibilities

Monitor custody accounts and statement activity to help ensure statements are accurate and released according to established requirements.
Research, analyze, and resolve statement exceptions and account discrepancies.
Complete statement releases and process requests involving backdated transactions.
Perform master trust evaluations, including reviewing account activity, categorizing transactions, and posting activity into the appropriate master trust structure.
Manage Business Process Management (BPM) requests and other operational or request-management activities.
Provide technical, process, and troubleshooting support for assigned accounts, products, systems, and procedures.
Respond to internal business-line partners’ inquiries and explain statement-related activity or issues.
Manage multiple operational processes and service-level commitments simultaneously.
Identify operational risks, support established controls, and recommend process-efficiency improvements.
Use independent judgment and decision-making when researching and resolving operational issues.
Maintain accurate and timely completion of daily processing activities.
Contribute to department initiatives and process improvements within the analyst’s area of expertise.
Provide professional, responsive service to internal partners and, when necessary, support client-related discussions.
