About The Position

Hawaiian Building Maintenance is seeking a motivated, reliable, and trustworthy Custodian to clean and maintain a commercial location in Waianae, Oahu, Hawaii. The role involves maintaining facility common areas and grounds, cleaning multiple spaces including a pool area, laundry, gym, sauna, office, lobby, restrooms, and bathrooms with showers, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance issues. The position is full-time for 32 hours per week, with a schedule ranging Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The hourly pay rate is $18.25. Training is available; previous custodial, housekeeping, or related experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Requirements

Successfully complete the HBM prescreen check.
Strong public relations and communication skills, including proficiency in English reading, writing, and speaking.
Ability to work independently or with a team and maintain strong organizational skills.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Willingness to work in all weather conditions.
Ability to perform basic manual labor, including frequently lifting, pushing, pressing, pulling, and carrying at least 30 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
Ability to reach overhead, grasp objects, bend, kneel, crawl, squat, climb, stretch, and walk up and down stairways.
Ability to use a ladder.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in custodial work, housekeeping, or a related field; training is available.

Responsibilities

Ensure cleanliness in common areas throughout the facility.
Sweep, dust, mop, scrub, sanitize, and vacuum as part of a thorough cleaning routine.
Empty trash and recycling into designated bins and replace trash bag liners.
Wipe down surfaces and clean up spills.
Push trash bins.
Maintain grounds, including the pool area, laundry, gym, sauna, office, lobby, restrooms, and full bathrooms with showers.
Restock supplies as needed.
Operate a leaf blower machine and pressure wash machine.
Use a buffer-scrubber machine in high-traffic areas.
Report maintenance issues.
Perform additional duties as assigned by HBM management.
