Custodian (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)
About The Position
Perform various cleaning duties in assigned areas of district buildings or schools in accordance with county health department standards and standards established by the Custodial Services Department. This position is at Drachman Montessori K-8 Magnet in the 22nd St. and 10th Ave. area. It is effective for the 2026-2027 school year, with a 12-month work calendar and an evening shift. The position is classified as blue collar and is 1.0 FTE, working 8 hours per day. The district states that posted pay rates include community-approved override increases guaranteed through June 2031. Positions working fewer than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with bargaining unit language; salary schedule information is available on the Employee Agreements webpage. Before starting, the successful candidate must complete an FBI fingerprint background check, provide proof of immunity to measles and rubella or proof of MMR immunization, pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 50-pound lift test, and complete mandatory TUSD New-Hire Custodial Training.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of custodial experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to comprehend graphic and oral instructions in English.
- Complete an FBI fingerprint background check before starting.
- Provide proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization, before starting.
- Pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 50-pound lift test.
- Complete mandatory TUSD New-Hire Custodial Training.
