Custodian (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR)
About The Position
The Custodian performs cleaning duties in assigned areas of district buildings or schools. Work must meet county health department standards and standards established by the Custodial Services Department. This position is based at Pueblo High School in the Ajo and 12th Avenue area and is effective for the 2026–2027 school year. It is a 1.0 FTE position, scheduled for 8 hours per day on a 12-month work calendar, with a PM shift from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. The posted pay rates include increases funded through a community-approved override guaranteed through June 2031. Positions working less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits. Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language; salary schedule information is available on the Employee Agreements webpage. Before starting, the selected candidate must complete an FBI fingerprint background check, provide proof of immunity to measles and rubella or proof of MMR immunization, pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 50-pound lift test, and complete mandatory TUSD New-Hire Custodial Training.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of custodial experience.
- Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
- Ability to comprehend graphic and oral instructions in English.
- Before starting, complete an FBI fingerprint background check.
- Before starting, provide proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
- Before starting, pass a post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 50-pound lift test.
- Before starting, complete mandatory TUSD New-Hire Custodial Training.
