About The Position
Custodians provide a clean, safe, high-quality facility that supports an enhanced learning environment and IDEA’s commitment to excellence. The role includes daily cleaning, campus maintenance, work orders, safe handling of chemicals and equipment, and efficient management of custodial supplies. Custodians work with the Facilities Manager on facilities needs and are expected to demonstrate reliability, punctuality, flexibility, and a team-oriented approach. The position is based at IDEA Pflugerville and is an immediate opening. Compensation is an hourly rate ranging from $16.76 for 0 years of experience to $20.20. The role is eligible for a performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment. Requirements
- Ability to understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures.
- Knowledge of minor repair techniques and building and grounds maintenance.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and lift heavy equipment.
- Ability to properly handle cleaning supplies.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and willingness to work longer hours as needed.
Responsibilities
- Provide a clean and healthy environment that supports an enhanced learning environment.
- Achieve a proficient rating on the Facilities Rubric and Facilities Audit.
- Execute assigned work orders, with a goal of completing 90% of campus projects within 48 hours.
- Complete daily cleaning responsibilities with attention to detail.
- Work with the Facilities Manager to identify facilities needs for capital expenditure planning.
- Operate safely, complete SafeSchools training by the deadline, and use personal protective equipment at all times.
- Keep all chemicals on hand locked and immediately report unsafe campus situations.
- Manage custodial supplies and equipment efficiently, minimize material consumption, and maintain an accurate inventory log.
- Order supplies from the Facilities Manager within campus guidelines.
- Properly use and maintain heavy equipment.
- Demonstrate reliable attendance, punctuality, and flexibility, with zero unexcused absences.
- Follow the work schedule, prioritize tasks, and use good judgment to work efficiently.
- Work longer hours as needed to meet the mission goal.
