About The Position

Emory Campus Services is seeking a Custodian I to perform custodial responsibilities, including general cleaning, trash removal, light floor care, and special-event and room setups. The position is performed in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to the employee. The scheduled shift is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Ability to understand and follow communicated instructions.
Native-level proficiency in English.
May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and bend, stoop, and twist.
Ability to walk up to 2 miles per day.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas, including furniture, telephones, fixtures, walls, windows, window sills, blinds, and vents.
Clean walkways, steps, and mats.
Clean floors using a vacuum, dust mop, and wet mop.
Use appropriate cleaning solutions for assigned tasks.
Set up event spaces by arranging chairs, tables, podiums, or other furnishings according to a design layout.
Maintain adequate supplies in bathrooms and supply closets.
Collect and remove trash and recyclables.
Dispose of hazardous waste when required.
Follow safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
May drive fleet vehicles and perform daily inspections to ensure their safe operation.
Perform other related duties as required.
