About The Position

Emory University Campus Services is seeking a Custodian I to perform custodial duties, including general cleaning, trash removal, light floor care, and event and room setups. The position is performed in person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option. The stated schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Requirements

Ability to understand and follow communicated instructions.
Native-level proficiency in English.
May require the ability to lift 50 pounds and bend, stoop, and twist.
Ability to walk up to 2 miles per day.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas, including furniture, telephones, fixtures, walls, windows, window sills, blinds, and vents.
Clean walkways, steps, and mats.
Clean floors using a vacuum, dust mop, and wet mop.
Use appropriate cleaning solutions for assigned tasks.
Set up events by arranging chairs, tables, podiums, and other furnishings according to a design layout.
Maintain adequate supplies in bathrooms and supply closets.
Collect and remove trash and recyclables.
May dispose of hazardous waste and must adhere to safety regulations and PPE requirements.
May drive fleet vehicles and perform daily inspections to ensure their safe operation.
Perform other related duties as required.
