About The Position

U.S. Facilities, Inc. is seeking a dependable, hands-on Custodial Site Supervisor to lead daily operations at a Safety Rest Area in Port Wentworth (Savannah), Georgia. The supervisor will lead Rest Area Attendants and Weekend Supervisors and help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for travelers. This is an anticipated opening; hiring and start dates depend on business needs, and applying does not guarantee an offer of employment.

The role is performed primarily inside the rest area and in adjacent parking lots, walkways, and lawns. The supervisor must be reachable 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and respond to emergencies within 60 minutes of notification or as directed by the client. The schedule may vary and may include nights and weekends. Additional or different duties may be assigned to meet changing business and operational needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Janitorial and/or maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of applicable OSHA standards.
• Ability to lead, manage, and direct a team.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used to maintain and repair buildings and other structures.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask and complete assigned duties efficiently.
• Professional appearance and a calm, approachable manner when working with a variety of personalities.
• Fluent in English.
• Flexibility to work a varying schedule, including nights and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 15–50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and support Rest Area Attendants and Weekend Supervisors through a consistent, hands-on daily presence.
• Ensure all contract requirements are met at each assigned Safety Rest Area.
• Ensure facilities and grounds are cleaned and maintained to contractual standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of restrooms and common areas for sanitation, cleanliness, order, safety, and malfunctioning equipment, including mandatory inspections at least weekly.
• Identify facility and grounds maintenance, repair, or replacement needs, and create preventive maintenance, maintenance, minor repair, and major repair work orders as needed.
• Partner with Area Managers and the Project Manager to ensure work orders are properly reported and processed, and coordinate with on-site maintenance staff to complete repairs.
• Oversee subcontractors at the direction of Area Managers and the Project Manager.
• Complete and update required documentation and logbooks daily and weekly, including preventive maintenance logs, access logs, and supply inventories.
• Perform minor maintenance, such as changing light bulbs and filters.
• Assist with grounds and landscape care as needed, including mowing, trimming, pulling weeds, and planting flowers.
• Perform Attendant or Weekend/Lead Supervisor duties when needed and support the team in completing all work.
• Greet travelers and assist with questions or concerns.
• Recognize and promptly correct hazardous conditions and promote a positive safety culture to reduce or eliminate accidents and injuries.
• Respond to emergencies within 60 minutes of notification or as directed by the client, and remain reachable 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
• Lead by example with professionalism and a strong work ethic.
• Perform additional or different duties as necessary to meet evolving business needs and operational requirements.
