About The Position

Shero Commerce is hiring a full-time, salaried CRO Specialist to own conversion rate optimization across its Shopify client portfolio. This hands-on role combines analytics, customer experience research, hypothesis development, wireframing, and experimentation to improve client revenue. The specialist will audit stores, identify and quantify friction in the shopping journey, build prioritized optimization roadmaps, and lead evidence-led improvements. They will connect marketing, design, solutions, and development teams, and present findings to clients and leadership. The position is remote within the United States, with consistent overlap with US business hours and occasional client visits. Initially focused on individual contribution, the role may develop to include commercial responsibilities, process development, knowledge sharing, and greater team leadership as the CRO practice grows.

Requirements

  • At least five years of ecommerce experience, preferably at an agency, including at least three years focused on CRO.
  • Strong ecommerce experience; candidates who transitioned into CRO from design, marketing, or solutions roles are encouraged to apply.
  • Experience with Shopify, including themes, apps, checkout, and analytics.
  • Strong GA4 skills, including funnel exploration, segments, events, and ecommerce reporting.
  • Experience with heatmapping and session-recording tools such as Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, or Lucky Orange.
  • Experience setting up and running tests on more than one testing platform.
  • A track record of audits leading to tests and tests leading to measurable revenue gains.
  • Ability to create clear wireframes in Figma or a similar tool.
  • Solid understanding of test statistics, including significance, sample size, and when to call a test.
  • Clear written and verbal communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Comfort using AI tools such as Claude to accelerate analysis, audits, and test documentation.
  • Ability to work remotely with consistent overlap with US business hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Google Tag Manager and event-tracking setup.
  • Background in UX research, user testing, or survey tools.
  • Experience with pricing, offer, and shipping-threshold tests.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing channels and how they affect onsite conversion.

Responsibilities

  • Combine GA4, Shopify analytics, heatmaps, scroll maps, and session recordings to assess the conversion funnel.
  • Identify shopper friction, drop-off points, and missed revenue, and quantify the opportunity associated with findings.
  • Conduct CRO audits of Shopify stores across product discovery, product pages, cart, and checkout.
  • Develop clear, testable hypotheses grounded in quantitative and qualitative evidence.
  • Prioritize optimization ideas using a consistent framework such as ICE or PIE.
  • Translate findings into actionable recommendations for clients and internal teams.
  • Create high-level wireframes and annotated concepts showing proposed changes and their rationale.
  • Prepare clear briefs for designers and developers to support efficient test delivery.
  • Own a prioritized CRO roadmap for each client and determine whether traffic and data quality support A/B testing.
  • For lower-traffic stores, use customer research and other evidence to recommend improvements and distinguish tested results from directional findings.
  • Set up, quality-assure, and launch A/B and multivariate tests across testing platforms.
  • Define primary, secondary, and guardrail metrics, sample size, and test duration before launching tests.
  • Analyze test results rigorously, document learnings, and use them to inform future tests.
  • Align landing pages and offers with traffic sources in partnership with digital marketing specialists.
  • Collaborate with design, solutions, and development teams to create feasible and effective customer experiences.
  • Identify tracking and measurement issues, and work with the Marketing Technology Engineer to validate data and resolve issues affecting CRO decisions and test results.
  • Present findings and test results clearly and confidently to clients and leadership, including during occasional on-site visits.
  • Contribute to team meetings and share wins and learnings across Shero teams.
  • Identify opportunities to expand CRO support for existing clients and introduce the service to clients who do not currently use it.
  • Partner with account and sales teams on recommendations and proposals, with guidance from the wider team.
  • As demand grows, help develop CRO processes and share knowledge with future team members, with potential for greater leadership responsibilities.
