About The Position

A Critical Care EMT is an integral part of the primary care team during ambulance transports. You are responsible for providing direct patient care, medical transport, performing equipment checks and maintenance, as well as handling station upkeep and housekeeping duties, along with other related tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience as an EMT.
  • Current CPR
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Good verbal communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 1.5 years of experience driving in an emergency setting preferred.
  • Previous CCT EMT experience preferred but not required.
  • ICS 100, ICS 200 or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire.
  • PHTLS / ITLS or willingness to obtain within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize medical equipment to assess patient and carry out basic life support functions.
  • Develop and utilize triage skills to provide optimal efficiency during calls.
  • Assist CCT Team with the preparation of advanced life support equipment.
  • Provide patient care according to clinical protocols and safety requirements.
  • Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
  • Communicate with patient and loved ones to provide information, as directed, and show compassion.
  • Safely drive the ambulance to minimize call response time.
  • Monitor and maintain the general condition of the unit, keep it clean and stocked for optimal call response to maintain the image of MMT Ambulance.
  • Follow policies and procedures regarding out-of-chute times and turnaround times.
  • Complete daily/weekly/monthly unit check offs.
  • Report any mechanical or clinical issues.
  • Keep current on certifications.
  • Complete all assigned education.
  • May be required to administer first aid to injured coworkers when necessary.
