The Department of Revenue, Criminal Investigations Unit is hiring for a Criminal Justice Technician 2 in Anchorage. This position serves as the primary intake point for fraud tips, evaluating and screening complaints, logging cases, and determining whether investigative action is warranted. It provides investigative support through research, analysis, and coordination of information requests from the public, law enforcement, and other agencies. Administrative support includes APSIN/NCIC terminal security oversight, website updates, background checks, budgeting assistance, and notary services. The role also compiles and reports case inventory, prosecution referrals, and time management information to CIU leadership and divisions for operational and budgeting needs. Additionally, it manages evidence and state property by certifying as an Evidence Room Custodian, maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting audits, and processing property documentation. The Department of Revenue’s mission is to collect and invest funds for public purposes and the Criminal Investigations Unit supports this mission by enforcing laws and regulations through investigation, public education, and use of legal process. The unit maintains the highest ethical and performance standards while fostering a culture that values integrity, professionalism, and adaptability.
