Requirements

• One year as a Criminal Justice System Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
• Two years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field
• One year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a master’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field
• An equivalent combination of experience and training
• Meet the PA residency requirement
• Be able to perform essential job functions
• Pass a background investigation

Responsibilities

• Communicate with sheriffs and deputies through calls, correspondence, site visits, and personnel reviews
• Monitor training contractors, observe instruction, resolve program issues, and support quality standards
• Assist with building training curricula and review materials to ensure accuracy and alignment with program needs
• Use questionnaires, interviews, job reviews, and job task analysis methods to support training evaluations
• Prepare work statements, process purchase order documents, and review related invoices for approval
• Maintain hardcopy and computer-based training records, oversee certification card processes, and recommend improvements
