The Credit & Recovery Specialist is responsible for remaining in compliance with established policies and procedures, contacting delinquent accounts, negative balance accounts, updating tracker information and assisting the Credit & Recovery Manager with daily and monthly reporting. This role involves engaging in discussions with members that involve a high degree of confidentiality and discretion requiring diplomacy and tact. The specialist will maintain accurate files and reports on all collection activity, review and analyze past due accounts and delinquency reports, and work closely with the Credit & Recovery Manager to prepare various legal claims and orders. Additionally, the role supports the resolution of debt for deceased members, manages the scanning and indexing of collection documentation, assists with returned mail, and reviews E-Oscar claims. A key aspect of this position is providing informed, professional, and accurate service to members and employees, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of credit union products, internal collection policies, and external regulations. The specialist will also assume additional responsibilities as requested by management.
