The Credit & Recovery Specialist is responsible for remaining in compliance with established policies and procedures, contacting delinquent accounts, negative balance accounts, updating tracker information and assisting the Credit & Recovery Manager with daily and monthly reporting. This role involves engaging in discussions with members that require a high degree of confidentiality and discretion, maintaining accurate files and reports on all collection activity, and working closely with other credit union departments to resolve debt. The specialist will also be responsible for scanning and indexing collection-related documentation, assisting with returned mail, reviewing E-Oscar claims, and providing informed, professional service to members and employees. A thorough knowledge of credit union products, internal collection policies, and external regulations is essential.
