About The Position

The Morningstar Summer Internship Program is designed for college students entering their final year, serving as a stepping stone towards successful, long-term careers. Interns will engage in various aspects of Morningstar’s business through ten-week individual and group projects. They will gain knowledge of the financial services and securities industries and develop critical business development skills. Interns receive hands-on mentoring from colleagues and the People & Culture team to support their success at Morningstar.

Requirements

  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Nice To Haves

  • Excel VBA is a plus
  • Familiarity with R or Python is a plus
  • Interest in Structured Finance and credit markets

Responsibilities

  • Gathering and analyzing financial data for credit ratings
  • Conducting market and industry research
  • Reviewing legal documents related to transactions
  • Assisting in the development of financial models and cash flow engines
  • Supporting the preparation of rating reports, press releases, and commentaries
  • Participating in internal meetings and discussions with external stakeholders
  • Learning and applying DBRS Morningstar’s rating methodologies
