About the position

This position is for a Creative Services Project Manager who will be responsible for managing the workflow process for a cross-department team to deliver marketing solutions. The role requires a strong understanding of marketing and creative team workflows, as well as the ability to manage projects under pressure and tight deadlines. The Project Manager will be responsible for implementing and improving workflow processes, managing project initiation and schedules, facilitating kick-off and retrospective meetings, and managing the review process and approvals. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience in a creative services project management role, be highly organized and process-focused, and have strong customer relationship skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the workflow process for a cross-department team to deliver marketing solutions
  • Develop and improve workflow processes to ensure consistency across all lines of business
  • Manage project initiation and schedule for assigned School/Programs
  • Vet incoming requests and identify missing information
  • Prioritize incoming requests and projects
  • Schedule time and resources to meet scope, budget, and deadline
  • Plan for quarterly budget and allocation with Brand
  • Facilitate kick-off meetings and gather team agreement on scope of work
  • Manage scope changes, strategy changes, and version control
  • Attend and facilitate resource planning huddles
  • Facilitate School/Program launch huddles
  • Facilitate Retrospective Meetings to improve processes and systems
  • Identify and mitigate risks
  • Manage review process and approvals
  • Monitor review process and maintain version control
  • Escalate issues and coordinate with team members for resolution
  • Build strong working relationships with internal and stakeholder team members
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other project managers
  • Manage other projects within the department and 2U as assigned
  • Coordinate with creative teams and ensure effective support
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Possess 3-5 years of experience in a creative services project management role
  • Have working knowledge of ticketing and management programs
  • Be highly organized, process-focused, and committed to continuous improvement
  • Be self-motivated, flexible, quick, assertive, measured, calm, and collaborative
  • Understand creative process, brand standards, and print and digital deliverables
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree
  • Have strong customer relationship skills, both verbal and written
  • Interact with all personality types and levels of staff
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Demonstrate exceptional problem determination skills with attention to detail
  • Experience working in an agency or digital marketing department is a plus
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Suite, G Suite, and Slack
  • Be available to work at the Headquarters in Lanham, MD two days a week for a hybrid schedule.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in a creative services project management role in a medium-large sized marketing creative team or Agency
  • Working knowledge of at least one ticketing and management program (Jira, Smartsheet, Basecamp, Trello or Workfront)
  • Highly organized, process focused, and a desire for continuous improvement
  • Self-motivated, flexible, quick, assertive, measured, calm and collaborative
  • Thorough understanding of creative process, brand standards, print and digital deliverables in order to schedule projects without creative management input
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong customer relationship skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to interact with all personality types and with all levels of staff
  • Time management and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Exceptional problem determination skills with a high attention to detail
  • Experience working within an agency or digital marketing department is a plus
  • Patient and excellent under pressure
