About The Position

Dawes Rigging & Crane Rental is hiring a full-time, exempt Crane Rental Estimator & Outside Sales Representative for its Madison, Wisconsin branch and surrounding area. The role focuses on marketing and sales, estimating crane rental work, assessing job sites to recommend safe and efficient solutions, and preparing professional customer quotes. Commission eligibility begins after an initial training period. Experienced crane operators considering a career change are encouraged to apply. Occasional overnight travel in the area may be required. The position offers a casual business environment and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

• Customer-service orientation and good communication skills.
• Closing, territory management, prospecting, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Self-confidence, motivation, product knowledge, and ability to maintain client relationships.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, CRM software, and Apple products.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Nice To Haves

• Crane or aerial rental experience.
• Construction equipment rental experience.
• Experience as a crane operator; experienced crane operators seeking a career change are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Market and sell services for the branch and surrounding area.
• Evaluate job sites and determine safe, efficient, and effective ways to perform the work; provide professional quotes to customers.
• Enter all existing and prospective customer interactions into the CRM system daily.
• Coordinate sales efforts by assessing existing and potential customer volume.
• Submit regular reports on activities and results to management.
• Analyze marketplace information on pricing, available products, marketing, and merchandising techniques.
• Recommend changes to products, services, and policies based on competitive developments.
• Investigate customer complaints, develop solutions, and make recommendations to management to provide strong customer service.
• Maintain records of area and customer sales and provide historical reports.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through workshops, industry publications, and professional networks.
