About The Position

The Craft Bartender / Mixologist delivers an exceptional beverage experience to arena guests through expertly prepared cocktails, premium spirits, and outstanding customer service. The role combines mixology expertise with efficient work in a fast-paced, high-volume sports and entertainment environment. The bartender serves guests at Memphis Grizzlies basketball games, University of Memphis Tiger basketball games, concerts, VIP events, and other arena functions. The position involves preparing craft and classic cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages to established recipes and presentation standards; providing attentive, personalized guest service; and maintaining beverage and bar supplies. The bartender also supports seasonal and specialty drink menus, offers knowledgeable recommendations, and handles guest requests and service concerns professionally. The role requires working event schedules, attending training and briefings, and meeting the physical demands of busy arena service.

Requirements

Experience using POS systems and handling cash or electronic payments.
Strong communication, customer service, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
Ability to remain composed, professional, and guest-focused in a loud, fast-paced environment.
Current alcohol-service certification and food handler certification, as required by applicable law and employer policy.
Must meet the applicable legal age requirement for alcohol service.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout events.
Ability to lift and carry beverage supplies, ice, kegs, and other materials within established safe-lifting limits.
Ability to reach, bend, and stoop, and to work behind a bar in a busy service environment.
Ability to work effectively in crowded, noisy, and high-energy settings.
Reliable transportation and punctuality for scheduled shifts.

Nice To Haves

Previous bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant, fine dining, hotel, nightclub, premium hospitality venue, stadium, or arena.
Demonstrated knowledge of craft cocktails, classic recipes, spirits, and professional bartending techniques.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve craft cocktails, signature drinks, classic cocktails, mocktails, and other beverages according to established recipes and presentation standards.
Demonstrate knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, liqueurs, mixers, garnishes, and current cocktail trends.
Maintain consistent beverage quality, accurate measurements, attractive presentation, and timely service.
Recommend cocktails and beverage pairings based on guest preferences.
Support the development and execution of seasonal cocktails, featured beverages, and specialty drink menus.
Maintain proper inventory levels of spirits, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies.
Deliver polished, attentive, and personalized service to premium-seat holders, suite guests, VIPs, and general admission customers as assigned.
Engage guests professionally and enthusiastically while maintaining an inviting bar atmosphere.
Explain beverage ingredients, flavor profiles, and preparation methods and provide knowledgeable recommendations.
Respond promptly to guest requests, resolve service concerns professionally, and escalate issues when appropriate.
Maintain a service style that reflects arena hospitality standards and enhances the guest experience.
Attend required training sessions, pre-event briefings, and team meetings.
Work scheduled events, including Memphis Grizzlies games, University of Memphis Tiger basketball games, concerts, and other events.
