Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Four (4) years of responsible administrative experience in a moderately complex office or business setting demonstrating the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for this position
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to four (4) years of experience that typically supports the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
  • Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks, with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting
  • Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks
  • Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances
  • Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies
  • Skill in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation

Responsibilities

  • Opening new criminal case files
  • Scheduling same-day hearings
  • Performing data entry related to pleadings, search warrants, secret indictments, release agreements, and judgments
  • Checking documents for accuracy and completeness
  • Updating case information in the electronic case management system
  • Reviewing cases and payment schedules to determine if payments for fines and fees are being made on time
  • Entering information about drug and alcohol diversions and conditional discharges into the system
  • Tracking dates to monitor compliance
  • Determining the appropriate next steps
  • Providing customer service to attorneys, litigants, and the public in person, over the phone, and in writing
  • Providing grand jury testimony
  • Testifying at failure to appear trials
