About The Position

The Department of Psychology is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Cognition (PSYC 213) during the Fall 2026 term. This course examines the nature of thought and how it arises in the mind and brain. Cognition is the study of human information processing, and topics include memory, attention, categorization, decision making, intelligence, philosophy of mind, and the mind-as-computer metaphor.

Requirements

  • Expertise in the content area of the course
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • English communication skills (verbal and written)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver formal lectures on topics in cognition
  • Organize and facilitate classroom discussions and student presentations
  • Assess student work, including assignments, presentations, and research project reports
  • Supervise and support Teaching Assistants assigned to the course
