About The Position

McGill University's Institute for the Study of Canada, Faculty of Arts, is seeking a Course Lecturer for QCST 200, Introduction to the Study of Quebec (3 credits). This position involves teaching undergraduate students, integrating multidisciplinary content, promoting the Minor in Quebec Studies program, and potentially incorporating community engagement learning. The course is scheduled for Fridays from 2:35 pm to 5:25 pm, from August 31, 2026, to December 4, 2026, and will be held in LEA 219. Requirements

  • PhD or ABD in Quebec History or related field required.
  • Teaching experience in related coursework at the university level preferred.
  • Recognized disciplinary expertise related to Quebec studies.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
  • Ability to integrate multidisciplinary content in Quebec Studies.
  • Ability to promote the benefits of the Minor in Quebec Studies program.
  • Ability to integrate speakers from various sectors and backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Ability to put students at the heart of the teaching process.
  • Ability to integrate a community engagement learning process into the evaluation methods.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec.
  • English communication skills (verbal and written).
