About The Position

This course, CANS 200 Understanding Canada, explores the debated concept of Canada by examining defining events and institutions. It will interrogate topics such as colonialism, liberalism, nationalism, identity, multiculturalism, race, the welfare state, human rights, gender equity, public health, climate change, and reconciliation. McGill University is an English-language university where most teaching and research activities are conducted in the English language, thereby requiring English communication both verbally and in writing. Requirements

  • Master’s Degree (PhD preferred)
  • Knowledge and teaching experience in the anthropology, history, geography, and sociology of Canada as well as its politics, literature, and culture.
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located
  • English communication both verbally and in writing
