About The Position

The School of Religious Studies is looking to hire a Course Lecturer to teach CATH 200: Introduction to Catholicism for the Fall 2026 term. This course is an exploration of the Roman Catholic tradition in its intellectual, religious, moral, and cultural dimensions. The focus of the course is to provide an interdisciplinary study of the ways in which Catholicism has shaped Western civilization.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Ph.D. in religious studies, or PhD advanced candidacy in Catholic Studies.
  • Evidence of superior teaching ability, in the form of prior teaching.
  • CV.
  • Proposed course outline.
  • Evidence of teaching performance (teaching and/or TA evaluations).
  • The names of two referees.
  • MCLIU application form.
  • Authorized to work in Canada.
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec.
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Teach CATH 200: Introduction to Catholicism for Fall 2026 term.
  • Present the course content focusing on the Roman Catholic tradition in its intellectual, religious, moral, and cultural dimensions.
  • Provide an interdisciplinary study of how Catholicism has shaped Western civilization.
