About The Position

The Department of Psychology at McGill University is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Psychological Tests (PSYC 406) during the Fall 2026 term. This role involves preparing and delivering lectures, organizing classroom discussions, and assessing student work. The course content covers the theory and practice of psychological measures in various settings, procedures for developing and validating tests, and various assessment techniques. The instructor will also supervise Teaching Assistants.

Requirements

  • Completed PhD or enrolled in a doctoral program in Psychology
  • Provide evidence of effective teaching ability as a result of having successfully taught a similar course
  • The candidate’s area of specialization must be as close as possible to that of the course being offered
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • Proficient in English communication, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities

  • Prepare formal lectures and organize classroom discussions
  • Assess student assignments, presentations, and research projects
  • Supervise Teaching Assistants to the course
