About The Position

The Department of Jewish Studies is inviting applications to teach JWST 205 - Introduction to Jewish Literature, a survey of Jewish literary texts from the Bible to the present day. This course will include selections from psalms, prophecy, prayer, poetry, short stories, and novels. Critical literature on these texts, reflecting comparative, religious, historical, feminist, psychoanalytic, and linguistic approaches, will also be studied. Requirements

  • Advanced academic degree in literary analysis with expertise in Jewish Studies
  • Experience teaching a wide range of Hebrew and related materials from Biblical to modern times in the original languages as well as in translation
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Willing to work in the province of Quebec
  • English communication skills, both verbally and in writing

Responsibilities
