About The Position

This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Course Coordinator for PSYC 2P22 (Psychology Statistics & Research Design I) at Brock University. The compensation for this position is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour, effective September 1, 2026. The number of nominal hours and total stipend will depend on course enrollment, calculated at 0.2 hours per registered student. Duties and responsibilities are in accordance with Article 22 of the Collective Agreement.

Requirements

  • Must have completed or be enrolled in PSYC 5Y51/52/61/62/71/72 or PSYC 7Y51/52/53/61/62/63/71/72/73, or PSYC 5F01, within the previous five years; OR Minimum 3rd Year complete in a PSYC BA or BSc program, with an average of at least 80; and have taken this course within the previous five years, and achieved a grade of at least 80.
  • Must demonstrate a clear and thorough understanding of all aspects of the course to clearly explain all course topics.
  • Must have excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
  • Must have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to keep accurate records/manage data.
  • Must have excellent time management skills in order to mark papers within a constrained turn-around time.
  • Must have strong writing and editing skills and a thorough understanding of APA writing style.
  • Must be adept at providing feedback to students in a constructive manner.
  • Must be able and willing to present material/conduct seminars remotely.
  • Must be able and willing to maintain contact with the instructor, fellow teaching assistants and enrolled students by email and audio-video conferencing.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience as a TA or Marker in this course in an academic setting will be considered as equivalent.

Responsibilities
