About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for BIOL 1P93 for the Fall D2 term. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group and involves overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of course assignments and exams. The role reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and is governed by Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. Requirements
- Broad experience in Biology
- Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
- Previous experience supervising other demonstrators
- A Biological Science degree
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
- Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
- Ability to detect potential hazards
- Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
