About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for CHYS 2P52 Fall D2. This position is part of the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group and reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor. The Course Coordinator will oversee seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinate Teaching Assistants, assist in preparing marking schemes, and coordinate the marking of assignments and exams. The role is paid according to qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour, effective September 1, 2026.
Requirements
- Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
- Must have previously completed CHYS 2P52 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
- Previous successful experience as a Course Coordinator for CHYS 2P52 will be considered as equivalent.
- Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
- Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
Nice To Haves
- Previous course coordination experience (particularly with a large course) will be an asset.
- Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
