About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the CHYS 3P39 Fall D2 course, Children, Youth and the Law, instructed by Voula Marinos. This position involves 74 nominal hours and is governed by the CUPE Local 4207, Unit 1, Collective Agreement. The role includes scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom duties such as preparing seminar material, student consultation, marking, grading, examination proctoring, attending lectures, holding office hours, and other course administration. The Teaching Assistant must be available to attend the last hour of lecture each week.

Requirements

Minimum 3rd Year complete in the CHYS BA or CHYS BA/BEd program, or be entering and/or continuing in the CHYS MA or CHYS PhD program.
Must have previously completed CHYS 3P39 or equivalent, and obtained 80% or higher.
Previous successful experience as a Teaching Assistant for CHYS 3P39 will be considered as equivalent.
Must have effective communication skills including the ability to explain subject material to students.
Provide, if available, an evaluation of successful previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or Marker-Grader.
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
