About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for the LABR 2P93 Winter D3 course. This role reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and is governed by Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The Course Coordinator is responsible for overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of assignments and exams. The position is part of the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) and compensation is based on the employee's qualifications, with rates effective September 1, 2026. Employees without a 4-year honours degree or a 3-year pass degree will be paid the undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour, while those with such degrees will be paid the graduate rate of $36.67 per hour. Requirements

Broad experience in LABR
Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
Previous experience in supervising other demonstrators
A LABR DEGREE
Leadership and organizational skills
Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
Ability to detect potential hazards
Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur

Responsibilities

Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
