About The Position
Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for LABR 3Q96 Winter D3. This position reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and involves overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of course assignments and exams. The role requires a strong understanding of laboratory safety and the ability to manage potential hazards and respond to issues.
Requirements
- Broad experience in LABR
- Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
- Previous experience supervising other demonstrators
- A LABR DEGREE
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
- Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
- Ability to detect potential hazards
- Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
