About The Position
Brock University is seeking to fill an existing vacancy for a Course Coordinator for LABR 1P96 Winter D3. This position is within the CUPE4207-1 Employee Group. The Course Coordinator will report to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and will be responsible for overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders, assisting in the preparation of marking schemes, coordinating the marking of assignments and exams, and performing other related duties as required by the course instructor. The compensation for this role is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $23.30 per hour and a graduate rate of $36.67 per hour (effective September 1, 2026).
Requirements
- Broad experience in LABR
- Previous experience in demonstrating laboratories
- Previous experience in supervising other demonstrators
- A LABR DEGREE
- Leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to assign duties to demonstrators
- Ability to troubleshoot in the laboratory setting
- Ability to detect potential hazards
- Ability and skills to rapidly and appropriately deal with problems as they occur
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
- Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
- Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
- Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
- Any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
