About The Position

Brock University is seeking a Course Coordinator for the course 'The Future of Work' (LABR 1P97 Fall D2). This position reports to the Department Chair or Course Instructor and is governed by Article 22 of the Collective Agreement. The role involves overseeing seminar/tutorial/lab sections, coordinating Teaching Assistants, assisting with marking schemes, and coordinating the marking of assignments and exams. Requirements

  • A four-year Honours B.A., or equivalent, in Labour with a minimum 75% average in Labour courses.
  • Evidence of successful previous university-level teaching assistant experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated strong organizational and effective communication skills including the ability to respond quickly and clearly to student inquiries, coordinate activities of teaching assistants, manage course materials and grading in Brightspace, work well with course instructor, and meet appropriate deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the seminar/tutorial/lab sections for a particular course
  • Coordinating Teaching Assistants/Lab Demonstrators/Marker-Graders and holding meetings with them
  • Assisting in the preparation of marking schemes
  • Coordinating the marking of course assignments and/or midterm, progress and final exams
  • Performing any other related duties as may be required by the course instructor
