About The Position

Federal Express Corporation is hiring a Seasonal Courier to drive and operate company vehicles to deliver and pick up packages at customer locations. The position is for up to 12 weeks; after the assignment is completed, the employee may be offered a permanent position.

The role involves providing courteous, efficient package delivery and pickup, checking shipments for conformance with FedEx features of service, and performing related customer service functions. The courier drives vehicles not regulated by section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations and performs other duties as assigned.

This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position with customer contact. Employees must maintain a neat appearance, remain alert, and work safely. The courier must be licensed for the assigned vehicle type.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
• Good human relations and communication skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
• Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
• Neat appearance, as the role requires customer contact.
