About The Position
Drives and operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages. Checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and performs related customer service functions. Drives vehicles not regulated by section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position requiring a neat appearance due to customer contact, alertness, safe work practices, and a license for the type of vehicle assigned. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday. Starting pay is $23.21 per hour.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- No prior experience required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and communication skills.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
- Ability to maintain alertness and work safely.
- Neat appearance, as the position involves customer contact.
