About The Position
Drivers/operators of company vehicles provide courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages. They check shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service and provide related customer service functions. Other duties may be assigned. The position is based at a FedEx location five days a week, with the desired location in North Charleston, South Carolina. The schedule lists Tuesday and Wednesday off and working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be licensed for the type of vehicle assigned.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human relations and verbal communication skills.
- Neat appearance, as the role involves customer contact.
- Must meet qualifications outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
- Medical examination required in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Ability to remain constantly alert and work safely.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
