Courier/Swing Drvr/DOT
About The Position
Operates company vehicles and provides courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages, checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service, provides coverage for all assigned routes within the station's service area, and performs related customer service functions. Performs other duties as assigned. This is a part-time Courier/Swing Driver/DOT position. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM–5:00 PM, with hours that may vary. The posted pay range is $27.05–$38.93 per hour. The role requires customer contact and a neat appearance. The employee must meet and maintain qualifications under federal motor carrier safety regulations, pass a medical examination in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations, and maintain a valid state driver's license for the assigned vehicle type and a good driving record. This is a non-covered safety-sensitive position requiring constant alertness and safe work practices.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds using appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human-relations and verbal-communication skills.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Must meet and maintain qualifications outlined in federal motor carrier safety regulations.
- Must undergo a medical examination in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Must obtain and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with state requirements for the assigned vehicle type.
- Must have a good driving record as outlined in company policy.
- Ability to remain constantly alert and work safely.
- Neat appearance, as the role involves customer contact.
