About The Position
Operates company vehicles to provide courteous and efficient delivery and pickup of packages, checks shipments for conformance to FedEx features of service, provides coverage for assigned routes within the station’s service area, and performs related customer-service functions and other assigned duties. The position requires customer contact, a neat appearance, safe and alert work practices, and compliance with applicable federal motor carrier safety regulations. A medical examination is required in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations. Employees must meet company requirements for operating a vehicle, maintain a valid driver’s license appropriate for the assigned vehicle, and have a good driving record. This is a full-time position scheduled Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and to maneuver packages weighing more than 50 pounds with appropriate equipment and/or assistance from another person.
- Good human-relations and verbal-communication skills.
- Adaptability, dependability, and excellent courier methods.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of the service area.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries and directions in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.
- Meet and maintain qualifications under federal motor carrier safety regulations and complete a medical examination in accordance with FMCSA or FAA regulations.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license in accordance with state requirements for the assigned vehicle type and have a good driving record.
- Maintain a neat appearance because customer contact is required.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of courier experience.
- Thorough knowledge of the station’s service area.
- At least 21 years old and a valid driver’s license held for the previous three-year period.
