About The Position
Labcorp is seeking a Courier to join its team in Bloomington, Illinois. The Courier picks up, transports, and delivers medical specimens, lab supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients. The position includes use of a company vehicle for the route. For $125 per month, the employee may opt to take the vehicle home and use it for personal purposes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Pay is $17.75–$20 per hour. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life, short- and long-term disability, 401(k), paid time off or flexible time off, tuition reimbursement, and an employee stock purchase plan. Other eligibility terms apply to employees scheduled for fewer than 20 hours, casual, intern, temporary, and 7-on/7-off positions.
Requirements
- No education or experience is required.
- Be at least 21 years old.
- Have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Be punctual and have strong time-management skills.
- Have strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Be able to problem-solve customer issues.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of driver or courier experience.
- At least 1 year of customer service experience.
Responsibilities
- Load all necessary supplies for daily pickups.
- Complete the daily pickup schedule in a timely manner.
- Deliver all daily pickups to the branch at the end of the shift.
- Handle specimens and laboratory samples safely and efficiently.
- Safely operate a company vehicle and obey traffic laws.
- Use a handheld electronic device to manage daily pickups.
- Work with the dispatcher to handle additional pickups as needed.
- Evaluate traffic patterns, alternative routes, and weather conditions as needed.
- Pick up, transport, and deliver medical specimens, lab supplies, and reports while providing excellent service to clients.
