Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Be able to perform essential job functions.
  • Submission of criminal history reports (conditional offer of employment).
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Pass a drug screening (conditional offer of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Assign cases to staff and oversee daily case management activities
  • Guide and teach caseworkers in techniques for supporting abused and neglected children
  • Examine case records and documents to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Support caseworkers during home visits and provide direction as needed
  • Help improve policies and procedures to meet laws and regulations
  • Identify training needs and ensure caseworkers complete required learning
