About The Position

Wayne County Children and Youth Services in Honesdale, PA is seeking an organized, responsible, and motivated individual to join our Social Services Aid Unit team as a County Casework Supervisor. The role includes direct supervision, training responsibilities, and collaboration with other unit leaders.

Requirements

  • Two years of professional experience in public or private social work and a bachelor's degree with major course work in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; or Any equivalent combination of experience and education which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences.
  • Meet the PA residency requirement.
  • Able to perform essential job functions.
  • Pass a background investigation.
  • Pass a drug screening (conditional offer of employment).
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance (conditional offer of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Assign work and cases to Social Service Aids, review work, and complete performance evaluations
  • Approve leave, sign timesheets and payroll sheets; collaborate with other supervisors, caseworkers, and managers to oversee Aids’ work; and participate in the supervisory on-call rotation
  • Evaluate case results to ensure work aligns with approved plans, care standards, and legal requirements
  • Provide training to new and existing Aids on agency policies, procedures, best practices, and ongoing updates
  • Help review and recommend improvements to policy and procedures that enhance operations and ensure compliance with changes to overall regulations or guidance
