About The Position

Capital Electric is seeking a Counter Sales Representative for its Frederick, Maryland location. Capital Electric distributes electrical construction materials and serves contractors. The role involves selling products to customers, helping them select appropriate products, and building customer relationships so Capital Electric remains their preferred electrical distributor. The position also supports certain warehouse functions and sales and gross-margin goals. Sales experience or electrical knowledge is preferred, but the company will train the right candidate.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good and dependable mathematics skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer literate, including Microsoft Office.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Reliable, responsible, and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

• Sales experience and/or electrical knowledge; training may be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Handle incoming customer phone calls.
• Greet walk-in customers.
• Assist customers with orders and provide appropriate product selection.
• Pick customer orders from the warehouse and bring them to the counter.
• Prepare customer sales tickets and charge accordingly.
• Promote and sell company product promotions.
• Provide assistance with certain warehouse functions.
• Reach monthly sales and gross-margin goals.
• Treat customers with courtesy and politeness.
• Multitask and continually prioritize tasks throughout the day.
• Perform other duties as required.
