About The Position

Stuart Hose & Pipe, a SunSource company, is a hose and pipe distributor serving markets including Oil & Gas, Petrochem, Industrial, Food & Beverage, Construction, and Agriculture. The Counter Sales Associate is responsible for counter sales and warehouse operations at the Midland branch, including inventory, product handling, shipping and receiving, and personnel support in a friendly, fast-paced team environment. The role primarily processes orders from counter customers, helps customers identify and select products, checks material availability and lead times in the ERP, and processes requests for quotes. It also involves creating and processing purchase and transfer orders, training and mentoring Counter Sales employees, maintaining product and supplier knowledge, and assisting management as needed.

Requirements

Hose and fittings product knowledge is required.
Basic mathematical skills are required.
Ability to adapt to and work in a variety of situations in support of company goals.
Comfort with lifting heavy items and using warehouse machinery.
Good communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to read a tape measure preferred.

Responsibilities

Process orders received from counter customers.
Assist customers by clarifying needs, researching products, and recommending parts.
Use the ERP to determine material availability and establish lead times for customer orders.
Process requests for quotes (RFQs) from current or potential customers.
Create, issue, and process purchase orders and transfer orders as needed to fulfill customer orders.
Train and mentor potential and new Counter Sales employees.
Maintain advanced knowledge of Stuart Hose & Pipe products and services and those of supplier partners.
Assist management as needed.
Complete miscellaneous assigned tasks.
Support warehouse operations, including inventory, product handling, shipping, and receiving.
