About The Position
The State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Camp Hill is searching for a Corrections Food Service Instructor who is eager to make a positive difference. Requirements
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Teach inmates food preparation, production, service, and baking while reinforcing safe and sanitary practices
- Prepare meals according to recipes and ensure timely and accurate meal service
- Inspect food service areas, equipment, and food items to verify compliance with sanitation standards
- Requisition, receive, and store food and supplies while following first in first out procedures
- Plan and evaluate inmate work assignments and maintain performance records
- Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates during assigned food service activities
