About The Position
Step into a purpose-driven role as a Corrections Electronics Trade Instructor with the Department of Corrections (DOC), where your technical expertise becomes a powerful tool for change. Each day brings hands-on work, meaningful instruction, and the satisfaction of solving technical problems! This position provides instruction and supervision to inmates in the electronics trade while also performing hands-on maintenance, repair, and installation tasks throughout the facility.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in the testing and repair of electronic equipment
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA
- Meet the PA residency requirement
- Able to perform essential job functions
- Pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements
Responsibilities
- Deliver training that teaches standard principles and methods of the electronics trade
- Maintain order, track progress, and guide inmates through daily work assignments
- Perform testing, repair, and upkeep of communication, security, and electronic systems
- Issue, track, and secure tools and materials used during instruction and work tasks
- Assign tasks to inmate crews and inspect completed work
- Assist with installation and troubleshooting of cabling, network jacks, and electronic components
