Requirements
- Two years of experience in food preparation, production, or service of a variety of complete meal menus in an institutional food service operation, food catering service, restaurant, or in a similar large-scale food production operation; or An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- You must pass a background investigation and meet Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparing meals and guiding inmates in safe food production practices
- Inspect kitchen areas and equipment to ensure proper sanitation and safe operation
- Teach inmates proper techniques for food preparation, cleaning, baking, and equipment use
- Requisition and store food items while following first-in first-out procedures
- Plan work assignments and review performance of inmate workers
- Maintain care, custody, and control of inmates during work activities
